Handling Sensitivities or Allergic Reactions

Please call Sergeant’s Consumer Affairs Hotline at 1-800-2247387 with any questions or concerns about product usage or performance. We are here to help you 24-hours a day, 365 days a year!

  • If your pet shakes his or her fur more than normal, scratches or rubs the application site repeatedly, their skin may be sensitive to the ingredients. This reaction often indicates that they are experiencing a tingling feeling or itching. Bathe them with a liquid detergent that can break up oils, such as Dawn. Rinse well. If they continue to show signs of skin irritation, applying a small amount of Vitamin E oil can help reduce itchiness, dryness or irritation.
  • If your pet shows signs of an allergic reaction such as lethargy, restlessness, loss of appetite, excessive thirst or other symptoms, contact your veterinarian.
  • NEVER use a flea and tick product on a dog or cat that is already experiencing health issues without first consulting your veterinarian.
  • ALWAYS check with your veterinarian before applying a topical flea and tick product on a dog or cat that has an overwhelming infestation. If the pet has anemia, which can be caused by blood loss due to infestation, do not use a topical squeeze-on product until the pet recovers.
  • Report any product issues you experience to Sergeant’s Consumer Affairs Department at 1-800-224-7387. All Sergeant’s products are formulated, manufactured, quality tested and distributed with pet safety as our first goal.
