Do You Have a Question for Our Vets? #ASKAVET Event Coming Soon!
Do you have a question about your dog or cat but don’t necessarily think you need to see a veterinarian? #ASKAVET is here to help! At Pet Health Central our mission is to educate pet enthusiasts about pet health, including information about fleas and ticks, treats and health and wellbeing. #ASKAVET gives us the opportunity to do just that. Twice a month we will have Dr. Tony Johnson or Dr. Rod Van Horn available to answer your questions right on our Facebook page.
Sergeant’s Pet Care Products has worked with Dr. Tony and Dr. Rod for several years. I simply can’t put it any other way: They are awesome! In fact, if you’ve posted a question to our Facebook page in the last few years, chances are you’ve already communicated with one of them directly.
If you want to pre-submit an #ASKAVET question, post it in the comments section below this blog post. You can also submit your questions in a direct Facebook message to Pet Health Central. Remember to use the #ASKAVET hashtag and your questions will be answered at the next #ASKAVET event!

Just wondering I have a dog that is 10 yrs old he licks his paws because of anxiety . They don’t bleed or are infected but are severely stained. I saw something called dermapaw to stop the licking. Can you give me any advice???
I’ve had cats all my life. My daughter gave me a cat that unfortunately she got as a kitten, but was home alone a lot and desperately wanted outside. He started biting bringing blood. I’ve had him for several years now and still on occasion he seems to get in a mood and bites hard and continues to exhibit attack behavior. I’ve tried all kinds of things, but no luck. Sometimes I can alter behavior and sometimes not. He was neutered at 6 mths and has a scar on his right eye that clouds his vision. Otherwise he seems healthy. Most times he is loveable, but——
I have a 6 year old male Tabby. When I pet him he bites his foot. He has nothing in his paw. He only does this when you pet him. He is over weight , I don’t know if this has anything to do with the problem? If you could help me I would so appreciate it. Thank you.
Why is my dog eating poop? It is making her breath smell like what she is eating.
Thank you,
Winifred

I’m on a 2 wk vacay in Puerto Rico w/my 4 lb, 8 mo F chi and haven’t given her heartworm, flea or tick preventative- staying indoors mostly in metro area/private home. What testing/timeline do you suggest when I return to NYC (e.g., blood titers)? She’s on a raw diet (Stella&Chewy’s w/added organic raw meats, coconut/flaxseed oils-no table food). Also, not planning to spay her until she’s at least 1 yr and confused by arguments pro/con.
I have a cat that is 12 years old and is losing her hair. Is there something I can do for her
Thank you for your questions. Hope to see you on our Facebook page tonight at 7pm CST. ~Nichole
