Happy to Join PHC as the Newest Blogger!

Hi, Pet Health Central! I am thrilled to join this community of bloggers and pet lovers. I have quite a big heart for dogs and cats and am fortunate to have the chance to promote pet wellness with my work in interactive marketing.

I grew up in Omaha, Neb., with at least one dog in the home at all times. From a young age I understood there was something special about the bond that a pet and human share, and I am now hooked on this connection for life.

Zoey beggingDue to apartment community rules, I cannot keep a dog of my own, but I have a fur sister staying with my parents that I love just the same. Zoey is a nearly 3-year-old Snorkie who we found after doing extensive research on local and reputable breeders. I drove with my parents to pick her out from a group of three adorable puppies. All they wanted to do was run around and play; it was so difficult to choose just one! Then, in the middle of their rowdy playtime, she distinguished herself by hopping into my dad’s arms and snuggling in close with a happy sigh. We knew at that point she was meant to come home with us.

Growing up with both a Miniature Schnauzer and a Yorkshire Terrier in the house, it is amazing to now see both personalities come together into one playful and loving pup. She is smart and has a watchdog mentality, but is also cunning, loves attention and knows how to get what she wants. Where she lacks in size, she certainly gains in personality.

When I am able to move into a house, there is no doubt I will adopt a fur baby to call mine. I am eagerly anticipating the day where I can spoil my own dog with treats and toys, and have her run around a yard to her heart’s content. And then Zoey would have a playmate!

Once again, I am delighted to be a part of the Pet Health Central blog family. I will be hitting the ground running with another blog post this week, so be sure to come back to learn about National Walk Your Dog Week!
