Blog Paws 2014: Lake Las Vegas!

Blog Paws 2014: Lake Las Vegas! Can I say absolutely beautiful? I’ve found my new dream vacation spot, to say the least.

For those of you who don’t know, the annual three-day Blog Paws conference is about fostering pet blogger relationships, while educating those people about various important pet-related topics. There are educational classes, interesting booths, Yappy Hours, incredible guest speakers (like our very own Sandy Robins) and, best of all, hundreds of people who are passionate about pets.

Did I say passionate about pets? I meant EXTREMELY passionate about our four-legged family members. Being around these pet lovers reminds us all why we do what we do at Sergeant’s Pet Care Products.

Among the most memorable:

  • Surprisingly, we’d not met Manny The Frenchie before our trip to LLV, but are glad we did. He’s lovable, smart and absolutely adorable. Have you visited his Facebook page yet? I can’t stop looking at his adorable pictures!
  • Pet Expert Steve Dale was a guest speaker at Blog Paws this year. We were not surprised to find that he’s an excellent presenter. His personality and knowledge make for an awesome combination. Steve reinforced that pet behavior can be a real issue among owners. Rather than relinquishing a pet (which, according to stats, 56 percent of owners do), try pheromone products for dogs and cats (we recommend SENTRY calming products available at pet specialty stores nationwide).
  • Have you ever met a dog that paints? We have! Arbor [Go Vegas Dog] paints portraits with a paintbrush held securely in his mouth. The paintings are then donated to raise funds for non-profit organizations. Arbor’s owners, Bryce and Jennifer, are two amazing people who are trying to change the way shelters in Vegas treat their sometimes too-temporary visitors.
  • Gander: The Service Dog was wonderful to meet. He is one of the most well-behaved, sweetest dogs I’ve ever met. Thank you for all the good that you do!
  • There was a capybara in attendance at the event. Did the Westin realize that she was a capybara, the world’s largest rodent? I’m not so sure, but for some reason I doubt it. It was interesting and scary all at once.

Blog Paws was a blast this year! It’s impossible to name all of the memorable people and pets, but you know who you are.

dog by boothWe met hundreds of pet bloggers at our booth each day. I would like to say it’s because they simply wanted to talk to us, but honestly we had awesome products giveaways this year, like Sergeant’s Vetscription Joint-Eze Plus! It’s all about the pet care products.

We can’t wait for next year in Nashville. In the meantime, we’d love to get to know the Blog Paws bloggers even more!
